The AOC OIG promotes efficiency and effectiveness to deter and prevent fraud, waste and abuse in AOC operations and programs. AOC operations and programs include maintenance of iconic landmarks such as the U.S. CapitolCapitol GroundsCapitol Visitor CenterHouse Office BuildingsLibrary of CongressSenate Office BuildingsSupreme Court and U.S. Botanic Garden. We do this through value-added, transparent and independent audits, evaluations and investigations. We strive to positively impact the AOC and the taxpayer while keeping Congress informed.

 

The AOC is excluded from the Freedom of Information Act of 1966, as amended, and the Whistleblower Protection Act of 1989, as amended; however, the AOC is included in the Congressional Accountability Act of 1995, as amended.
